Weit über 100.000 Tote durch Covid-19, der eiskalte Mord an George Floyd, dazu ein infantiler Präsident, der nichts unternimmt, als über Twitter seinen Hass, seine Lügen und sein Ego zu verbreiten: Willkommen in den USA des 21. Jahrhunderts.
Die Idee für diesen Song entstand nach Trumps absurden Einfall, Desinfektionsmittel als Medikament gegen Corona zu empfehlen. Es gibt Menschen, die ihm glaubten und nun tot sind. Wir nahmen den Song per Homerecording auf – als kopfschüttelndes Statement zur Absurdität dieses Vorfalls.
Doch während das Video dazu Gestalt annahm, geschah der brutale Mord an George Floyd, gefolgt von den mehr als berechtigten Protesten überall in den USA. Wir erklären uns solidarisch mit allen People of Color und ihren Unterstützern, die gegen Rassismus, Ausbeutung und Dummheit ihre Stimme erheben! Black lives matter! Offiziell mag die Rassentrennung abgeschafft worden sein, gelebt wird sie dort noch immer. Doch eins ist auch klar: Trump ist letztlich nur ein Symptom für internationalen Rassismus und Hass, ein Boris Johnson und viele andere Hilfsdiktatoren hätten ein ähnliches Video verdient.
