“The 60‘s brought a musical revolution, nowadays we support respectful this evolution.” – The Swipes

When the 2007 founded four-piece from Frankfurt, Germany hits the stage, a time tunnel opens up spewing big boulders from the rock’n’roll big bang: Garagepunk, surf, rock, psychedelic and mod blended together, as the band would awaken the spirit of the 60’s-avant garde bands such as The Sonics, The Who or Iggy and The Stooges. Catchy rock‘n‘roll-hooklines mix up with moving grooves, spacy effects meet rhythms made to dance to.

What sets the Swipes’ sound apart from the 60’s garage beat explosion is their distinct sense for the beat, influences from later decades and their ability to play with speed. So just like with The Clash you may find relaxing Reggae alongside lashing punkrock riffs.

At the end of the day, the Swipes appeal to retro rockers just as much as they lure in those who ostensibly study the latest campus charts. At least if you’re into the likes of The Hives, The Orwells or The (International) Noise Conspiracy.

The actual CD „Communication Log-Out“ is released on PMA/Mad Butcher Records.
